With the vertiginous scientific and technological development of the current world, university teachers have before them an incalculable challenge, to improve the programs of the subjects, which is why continuous improvement is necessary in the ways of operating with personal components and non-personal aspects of the teaching-learning process, as this is a basic unit whose essential purpose is to contribute to the integral formation of the student's personality. An assessment of the theoretical and methodological references of the program of the subject Learning to Learn taught in the Preparatory Course for students of Medical Sciences, with emphasis on the learning strategy offered to them, has required the deployment of creativity and the constant search for theoretical support, to continue perfecting the ways, and methods aimed at raising the quality of the graduate who is delivered to the medical career at Elam. This research work addresses a theoretical view that breaks down what a learning strategy is, how they are classified, aspects that have not been sufficiently addressed, all of this is part of the results of the research project related to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of the subject Learn to Learn.
