MARIANA GRAJALES CUELLO - MOTHER OF THE COUNTRY: AN APPLICATION FOR MOBILE LEARNING

Abstract

The Android application (APK) "Mariana Grajales Cuello - Madre de la Patria" is a product created on the basis of the research results of the associated Project "Pedagogical and historical knowledge in the Teaching of the History of Cuba and America", with the participation, as a reference group, of the students of the History and Marxism Leninism career of the UCPEJV. Its objective is to provide teachers, professors and students with non-traditional knowledge, in terms of historiographic information, awards and the historical image the heroin. The application, very light (±10 Mb), is conceived to be incorporated into the range of cell phones with Android systems that exist in the country, and contains an updated biographical synthesis on Mariana, video, photo gallery and illustrations and a chronology. The published materials incorporate the results of the most innovative historiographical investigations on the Maceo-Grajales family. In particular, historical errors and misguided approaches that have become frequent are rectified. Consequently, with one of the Project's lines of work, the elements of the historiographic and cultural ideological response to the distortions and demobilizing readings have also been incorporated.
It also includes the research results of specialists, who have reconstructed the face of Mariana at the time when she joined the Ten Years' War, an unprecedented image of emotional and patriotic impact.
