Abstract

The role of the specialist teacher who works as a psychopedagogue of an educational institution has been controversial both in the theoretical and practical order. Likewise, his direct action on students and family members named as "psychopedagogical intervention" has also been weighed. In this work, the research results obtained from an exhaustive theoretical systematization are presented. From which the role of this teacher is redefined for psychopedagogical care seen as a pedagogical process, which enriches the pedagogical sciences, re-dimensiones the scope of its work, finds the concomitant limits with that attributed to teachers, other specialists of the educational institution, and above all, consistently demonstrates how to project changes in educational practice in accordance with the goals established by the 2030 Agenda, from the initial training of these specialist teachers. All this contributes to the solution of a group of professional problems related to this important specialized teaching figure and his contribution to the quality of the Cuban educational system.
