Abstract

The present study aimed to analyze the scientific literature on emotional intelligence (EI) and resilience in school and university level students, through a narrative review of research published between 2020 and 2024. Articles in psychology journals indexed were identified in the Scientific Information System Redalyc and Google Scholar. In total, 20 studies were included, selected according to criteria of relevance, methodological quality and research approach. The review covered areas of educational and developmental psychology. The results showed a growing interest in the relationship between EI and resilience, especially in school and university contexts. Studies highlighted the importance of emotional skills in improving academic performance and personal and social well being. Several educational interventions focused on the development of EI and resilience were identified, with benefits in stress management, social adaptation and academic success. In conclusion, the study underscores the need for further research on the integration of EI and resilience in educational programs to promote holistic development in students. It is recommended to develop systematic and personalized interventions that strengthen these emotional competencies from school to university level.
