National Curriculum of foreign language and didactic competence of the treatment of the contents

This investigative work aims to carry out an analysis of the Ecuadorian Foreign Language National Curriculum regard to its structure, content and evaluation criteria and the relationship it has with one of the didactic competencies that English teachers must possess to effectively fulfill its educational work, such as the treatment of the contents. The didactic competence of the treatment of the contents refers to the ability, knowledge, abilities, skills, attitudes that the teacher possesses to select, contextualize and optimally sequence the contents of the National Foreign Language Curriculum, in order to achieve the exit profile of the Ecuadorian students, it is focused on the development of life skills, job skills and entrepreneurial skills of students, with a B1 level of the CEFR. (Common European Framework), this means, to be an independent user of the English language.
