A brief look at the curricular reforms of higher basic education in Ecuador

This article responds to a descriptive study of the curricular reforms implemented in the Higher sublevel of Basic General Education in the field of Social Sciences, it offers reflections of the contributions in its educational process and the objective was to review the Curricular proposals of the Ministry of Education of Ecuador in order to know the changes made in the curricular contents in the period between 2010 and 2016, as well as their scope to the revaluation of Local History in Tenth Grade. The exploratory study was carried out through the methods of bibliographic review, documentary, historical-logical and analytical-synthetic analysis to know its educational purposes, components, methodologies and readjustments. Among the main findings, the incorporation into the curriculum on the study of the context, which involves respect for ancestral knowledge, the rescue of the conservation of stories, fables and traditional legends preserved through the transmission from generation to generation by means of orality.
