The present work it is oriented towards the theoretical foundation that reveals the development of learning styles in students of Spanish as Foreign Language (ELE) as an educational need and therefore as a social need. It is reflected that to improve the teaching and learning process in the current new university model, it is necessary to know what is the predominant style in student learning. Therefore, the objective is: to systematize the fundamentals of the characterization of the learning styles of the students of the Bachelor of Spanish Language for Non-Spanish Speakers at the FENHI, as a premise of the teaching-learning process of Spanish as a foreign language.
