Development of life skills in students of the Technical University of Machala. A pedagogical model

Abstract

This article presents the results of a study aimed at the construction of a Pedagogical Model for the training of life skills of university students in the context of the training of professionals of the Technical University of Machala. The research was developed according to a mixed methodology and an experimental design with the typology of a quasi-experiment. Observation was used as a method and interviews and surveys were applied to a sample of students and professors from different careers. The fundamental findings revealed the strengths and weaknesses of the investigated process, all of which made it possible to substantiate the problem and design as a solution to the problem studied a pedagogical model, which assumes the training and development of life skills, in the Ecuadorian context, as part of the professional training of the students of the technical university of Machala. The experts' assessment made it possible to determine the validity of the proposed model and the implementation of the curricular strategy, its applicability and sustainability.
