Abstract

The use of the project-based approach in computer science education in Cuba is one of the cornerstones of the specific didactics of this discipline. Therefore, existing theory on the subject provides general guidelines for its application at different educational levels. This paper aims to propose a procedure for using the project-based approach in the teaching and learning process of Educational Digital Applications I, within the initial training of computer science teachers, taking into account two levels of organization within the higher education teaching and learning process: the year group and the discipline group. The study employed research methods at the theoretical level (historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, and inductive-deductive); the empirical level (documentary analysis, observation, and interviews); and the mathematical-statistical level (analysis of absolute and relative frequencies). Its application was divided into two phases corresponding to the 2024-2025 academic year. Triangulation of the results allowed for the development of the procedure presented here.
