Martí’s Legacy in Cuban youth: education, identity, and social action

Abstract

This article analyzes the influence of José Martí thought on the Cuban youth movement, highlighting its role in shaping educational and social values. Through a qualitative approach, historical documents, pedagogical programs, and testimonies from young participants are examined. Results reveal that Martí’s principles of equity, patriotism, and intellectual emancipation continue to guide educational projects and community actions. It is concluded that the critical appropriation of his legacy strengthens national identity and promotes civic participation in contemporary contexts.
