Abstract

In this article, we sought to find the relationship between self-esteem and aggressiveness in schoolchildren. To this end, the primary objective is to analyze and understand the impact of having a high level of self-esteem, evaluating the presumed development of aggressive behavior. To achieve it, studies were analyzed that compare and discuss some common factors and contexts that are part of these variables, such as the impact it has in the early stages of life, on their interpersonal relationships, the ways of coping with everyday situations and consequences at the mental level in the individual later on. The method used was a selection of narrative articles in databases such as Redalyc, Scielo, Dialnet, among others. The search criteria used were: empirical review articles 2021-2024, published in English and Spanish. The results show us that the level of self-esteem that a child has will influence the possible development of aggressive behaviors that will have an impact on their close relationships and the coping with situations and/or challenges, much more in their daily context such as school and family. It is concluded that self-esteem and aggressiveness maintain an important relationship, even more so in the school stage.
