Abstract

The present work responds to an inquiry carried out on the level of training received by teachers who serve children with Special Educational Needs, from the Canton Cumandá District 06D03, located in the Province of Chimborazo Ecuador, of which the group of teachers who make up the Specialized Educational Unit "Cumandá”. Due to the geographical location, it has been seen that the level of teacher training is lacking and, in many cases, non-existent, either because there are no institutions that provide training or because of their cost. For this reason, this research aims to analyze the educational reality and the need to implement training programs that help improve the professional development of teachers in the care of students with Special Educational Needs. The results of this investigation consolidate the hypothesis that the training that this group of teachers receives is very scarce, since only 30% of the teachers have participated in 1 or 2 training courses for inclusion during the last year and most of the courses received are from the Ministry of Education through the capacity platform.
