Sustainable learning is an approach that allows teachers to employ efficient and effective educational practices as required by contemporary education in the 21st century, it also provides the knowledge and skills for a teacher to feel safe and transform his or her thinking and actions until he or she become an inclusive teacher. The objective of education is to provide quality in teaching learning and to achieve this goal it is necessary to apply innovative educational theories such as sustainable learning that is based on evidence, meaningful, relevant and responsive to the needs of students. We live in a very diverse society, therefore the complexities of the 21st century are many. Sustainable learning examines inclusive practices in education on three fundamental axes: equity (learning for all), relevance (meaningful learning) and sustainability (enduring learning). Sustainable learning becomes evident when we observe in students senses of well being, belonging, confidence in the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values acquired which they can use in their school life, family life, social life and in a future of work.
