The use of information and communication technologies in basic education

The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in Basic Education has an important role in the present era, where teaching and learning processes are constantly changing. Front to this, it is necessary that the central axis of the academic training processes have adequate preparation to face the different emerging scenarios. The present work has like objetive to analyze the level of knowledge and application of ICT of teachers of a basic educational unit of the Canton General Villamil Playas of the Province of Guayas in Ecuador. The research methodology was basic, quantitative approach, descriptive type, non-experimental design and cross-sectional. The population was made up of 16 teachers to whom a survey was applied aimed at evaluating the skills in the management of ICT and its application in the professional field. The results showed that the level of knowledge of ICT in teachers is good, having a predisposition to insert them in their teaching processes.
