Abstract

In the present article different theoretical assumptions referring to the sociolinguistic competence in the learning of a second language are addressed, in particular the communicative approach and its relation with the sociolinguistic competence are contrasted. In addition, the importance of this aspect of the language is evident in the teaching of foreign languages for a better performance of this specialty in Cuban universities. In as much, its implementation is sustained from the theoretical point of view through a system of activities, from the integral practice class for students of 1st year of the race. The article refers to the weaknesses that students show in this field and aims to propose is to reflect on how the sociolinguistic component is treated, from didactic linguistic operations and its link with orientation, execution and control from the praxis educational.
