The article addresses a topic of special importance to raise the quality of the teaching-educational process: the phonetic correction in the pronunciation of the mother tongue in teachers of Spanish literature in professional technical education. The study of certain official documents and scientific results, related and scientific, as well as experience in pedagogical practice, allows to ensure that the directors, methodologies and teachers of the Cuban Educational System, and fundamentally in professional technical education, where they do not have total mastery of the concepts related to pronunciation and its treatment in the methodological order, so this article aims to make an approachto the definition of this concept and if phonetic correction. In the same way, a proposal of essential dimensions and indicators that give the possibility of carrying out its evaluation is offered. The main historical trends in the direction of the teaching-learning process of pronunciation in the subject Spanish- literature are reflected, with emphasis of phonetics correctness.
