Study habits and its impact on academic performance. Necessary theoretical reflections

Continuous training in the student of study habits, with the teacher as a guide and facilitator of learning, which is supported by the family from successful strategies that involve this area, is essential for the success of the teaching-learning process. This review article addresses the issue of the incidence of study habits in the academic performance of students of Basic General Education, from the approach of a documentary research that allowed a critical reflective analysis about the interrelation between both variables, which is novel, if one considers that it allows stating important guidelines for understanding the subject. As important conclusions, it is considered that a habit is conceived as a behavior that is learned gradually, with effort and dedication, from the awareness of the need and benefits that it can bring to daily life and personal growth.
