Directive management in the evaluation of educational institutions in the Ecuadorian context

Abstract

Based on the importance of management, it is possible to identify the aspects evaluated according to the criteria of the Ecuadorian national regulations, and that are being fulfilled within the Tomás Sevilla Educational Unit to contribute with actions that lead to an improvement of the educational institution. The empirical method used is observation with active and complete participation, the researcher participates directly in the application of the observation as part of the teaching staff of the Tomás Sevilla Educational Unit and as a member of several commissions that participate in the institutional evaluation in the March and April of 2022 while the PEI is being built, using the evaluation criteria determined in the LOEI. The aspects taken into consideration for the institutional evaluation are established, as well as the aspects made effective with a guiding criterion to implement improvement actions. Institutional evaluation represents the effective instrument to improve educational management.
