Abstract

In this presented work, it is analyzed how the Cuban School of Literacy, which develops the Cuban program "Yes I can", taking advantage of the potential offered by the media, successfully and quickly achieves the reduction of illiteracy in different contexts, either from a community, neighborhood, area, municipality, state, and even a country. It is closely linked to the fundamental theses of the cultural historical school, founded by L. S. Vigotsky and continued by other outstanding psychologists such as Leontiev, Galperin and Luria, just to name a few of them.
