Abstract

Introducing robotics in the Cuban System National Education is one of the current pedagogical challenges. When studying this subject in other countries, it was observed that, despite the diversity of models, there is a general tendency to use the Maker methodology. This methodology encourages learning and come near to the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) learning approach. However, by laying its foundation on constructivism, it invites recognition of the Historical-Cultural approach. The article looks for coincidences between the STEAM approach, the Maker culture and the developer model promoted by the Cuban educational system. Also, there are proposals to lead to the complementarity of the approaches.
