GEOGRAPHICAL EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FROM THE CURRICULAR CONCEPTION OF GENERAL GEOGRAPHY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT III

The work addresses theoretical and practical referents of the Geography discipline and its interrelation with the sustainable development objectives of the 2030 agenda, based on the III educational improvement of the Cuban Educational System, which is aimed at developing the transformations that they generate changes in the sciences, technologies and the conservation of the environment from the contents of the geographical subjects that our students receive. The proposal of the curricular conception for the teaching-learning process of General Geography in the own curriculum is considered a necessity within the curricular changes of Cuban education in correspondence with the new scientific advances in this science, linked to the foundation of the Geography discipline related to the development of a geographical education for sustainable development and the achievement of a comprehensive general culture in our students. The new conception implies the need for a comprehensive curriculum perspective of Geography with the use of cartographic information sources and a solid base applied from the geographic education component for sustainable development.
