Abstract

The general objective of this research is to characterize the socio-affective preparation of prescholars educated in Day Care and in the Primary School of the Plaza de la Revolución municipality for their admission and satisfactory adaptation to the first grade. The specific objectives are: to describe the characteristics presented by the indicators of socio-affective preparation for admission and satisfactory adaptation to the first grade in 3 prescholars children educated in Day Care; in 3 prescholars educated in Primary School and compare both groups based on the previous results. In order to fulfill the general objective, the following were used as instruments: interviews, review of documents, participant observation and moral dilemmas. The information obtained was analyzed individually and then a comparative analysis was carried out in correspondence with the objectives set. The main results are that all the indicators were observed in the prescholars; no outstanding differences are perceived between both subgroups in the social and affective dimensions; the most important differences are in the moral dimension and the role of adults in the socio-affective preparation of preschoolers for school entry becomes evident.
