Abstract

Multiculturalism is present at the Latin American Medical School (LAMS) due to the existence of different regions of the world which demands from the professors an efficient communication to achieve an excellent teaching performance. An interaction abilities training course to improve the communicative performance of the professors was designed to satisfy that need. The conception and structure of the syllabus allows reinforcing the potentialities and overcoming the identified weaknesses and at the same time it strengths the communicative performance of the professors. Therefore, it is a chance to adapt their behavior and performance to the required needs of the current teaching context, to make progress in their teaching activity, to advance dealing with interpersonal relationships with students, to improve the quality of the teaching learning process and professionalism levels.
