The objective of this article is to analyze the different aspects that allow the cognitive-communicative and socio-cultural approach to be used in the discerment process of José MartI written texts. It contains a theoretical foundation updated with the criteria of specialists, based on the theoretical assumptions of this approach. The learning tasks that are elaborated allow the student to answer questions of the different levels of comprehension. It also highlights the need to work on the cognitive-communicative and socio-cultural approach in the Secondary School to promote the study of Marti's work, and highlight the validity of its postulates for the training of Cuban students.
