Educational guidance to students with low performance caused by depression

Abstract

In the educational context, the teacher occupies an important role, because through the tools that the teaching and learning dynamic provides, he can establish analysis criteria in relation to the behavior of each student, one of these tools is through the observation of both the group and the individual, being confirmed some prognosis with the academic performance, in this sense, the present article develops an analysis related to the educational orientation to students with low academic performance generated by depression. It begins with a historical context of this faculty worldwide and the importance it has presented in Ecuador, to highlight the role of the teacher within the educational system; In addition, the representation of academic performance was determined, as a key reference of the student's perception of learning and the influence of external elements that limit it; In the same way, depression was highlighted as a condition that negatively impacts the student to the point of decreasing academic performance, for which reason it was presented to the educational orientation as an entity of support and accompaniment towards the achievement of optimal results.
